An example method includes initiating a credit transfer request via the device identifier, determining, via a processor, whether an account associated with the device identifier comprises a prepaid type in response to receiving an indication of credit transfer success, and determining whether the account associated with the device identifier comprises a non-prepaid account type in response to receiving an indication of credit transfer failure.
