The slat assemblies 16 are composed of transverse slat members 18 which are attached to the underlying belt assembly 14 by clips 20 that encircle portions of the belt as well as encircle portions of the slat members to engage within slots, grooves, bores, or blind bores 134 formed along the length of the slats.
