The image processing apparatus includes a storage unit to store a list in which each of the processes is associated with a type of the process representing whether the process is to use information about an orientation of a document; an objective process determination unit to determine whether the selected process to be executed is of the type to use the information about the orientation of the document, based on the list stored in the storage unit; and a display control unit to display a confirmation screen on a display unit, for prompting to confirm the orientation of the document after having received an execution command for the process, in a case where the process has been determined as of the type to use the information about the orientation of the document.
