A method for checking a control pilot, referred to below as CP, line of a charging socket of an electrically drivable transportation means. The method includes closing the charging socket, as a result of which an electrical, in particular galvanic, connection is closed between the CP line and a line of the charging socket providing electrical energy, and checking a signal received via the CP line in response to the closing.
