A rigid base includes a radially outer base periphery, a radially inner base periphery, and upper and lower surfaces therebetween, and extending in a base plane transverse to the axis. A flexible, elastic membrane is coupled to the rigid base, and includes a perforate web extending in a membrane plane transverse to the axis. Also disclosed is a sink including the strainer.
