At least one or more areas satisfying an allowable condition determined for a color distribution in advance in the manuscript image data is set as a reading area on the basis of a result of the analysis of the color distribution of the manuscript image data. A setting position of the printed material with respect to a reading unit that performs reading of the printed material on which an image is printed on the basis of the manuscript image data is displayed on the basis of a result of the setting of the reading area. Reading of the printed material set in the reading unit is performed after the setting position is displayed by a display unit.
