A method of rendering audio content is disclosed, which includes determining a priority level for an audio object in the audio content, selecting a rendering mode from a plurality of rendering modes for the audio object based on the determined priority level and rendering the audio object in accordance with the selected rendering mode, the rendering mode indicating an accuracy of the rendered audio object.
