The image processing apparatus determines, based on concavo-convex data, color data, and color reproducibility, a correction area which is an area in which color reproduction represented by the color data is decreased according to the shape represented by the concavo-convex data. The image processing apparatus corrects the concavo-convex data by smoothing the concavo-convex signal corresponding to the determined correction area.
