Abstract: A method and a system for determining a location of a mobile communication terminal are provided to measure similarity between signal pattern data of the terminal requesting location determination and signal pattern data recorded in a pattern database, and determine the location of the terminal by using the selected similar signal pattern data, thereby selecting similar signal pattern data having high similarity. A method for determining a location of a mobile communication terminal comprises the following steps of: recording and maintaining first collected signal pattern data in a pattern database in association with location information(S210); receiving second signal pattern data from the mobile communication terminal requesting location determination(S220); calculating a distance measure with respect to the received second signal pattern data and the first signal pattern data recorded in the pattern database, and selecting one or more similar signal pattern data corresponding to the second signal pattern data among the first signal pattern data by using the distance measure(S230); and generating final location information of the mobile communication terminal based on the selected similar signal pattern data(S240).
