Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and a system for estimating the location of a terminal on base station basis are provided to accurately estimate the location of the terminal in consideration with signal transmission direction information of the base station. CONSTITUTION: A base station signal information receiver(510) receives base station signal information about the base station signal. The base station signal is transmitted from one or more base station to the terminal. A base station information receiver(520) receives the signal transfer direction information. A location estimator(540) estimates the location of the terminal in consideration of the base station signal information.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for determining a moving direction of a mobile terminal by using a signal dragging effect are provided to determine a moving direction of a mobile terminal being moved without complicated vector calculation by a GPS device. A positioning unit(210) determines a location of a mobile terminal based on base station information. A moving direction determining unit(220) determines a moving direction of the mobile terminal based on the location information of the mobile terminal and base station location information included in the base station information. The positioning unit determines a location of the mobile terminal based on a base station signal received from the base station and the base station information corresponding to the base station signal.
