Abstract: PURPOSE: A material for covering a seed and a method for manufacturing a pellet seed using the same are provided to be suitable for a maker of a pellet seed and a seeding machine and to produce a pellet seed without no problem in germinating, raising etc. CONSTITUTION: The material for covering a seed comprises a Yeongog Series Clay Loam(YSCL) and an aqueous solution of an arabic gum. The concentration of the arabic gum contained in the aqueous solution of the arabic gum is 10%. The particle size of the YSCL is 500 or less micrometers. The method for manufacturing a pellet seed comprises the steps of: preparing a solid material for covering a seed; preparing an adhesive by dissolving an arabic gum to obtain the aqueous solution; putting a seed in the solid material and mixing with the adhesive to prepare a mixture for forming a pellet seed; forming a pellet seed by a pellet seed maker; and dry blowing.
