Abstract: PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition for coating keratin fiber containing, in a physiologically acceptable aqueous medium, at least one thickener is provided. It can be used to coat keratin fiber, for example human eyelashes, eyebrow and hair, or alternatively artificial eyelashes, thereby obtaining at least one effect chosen from a smooth and uniform film deposited on keratin fiber, a lengthening effect, and a separating effect. CONSTITUTION: The cosmetic composition for coating keratin fiber contains at least one thickener in a physiologically acceptable aqueous medium and has a threading nature dmax in the range of 12 to 35mm. The thickener is selected from an associative polymer selected from non-ionic associative polymers and associative polyurethanes and contains 0.05 to 10% by weight of solids, based on the total weight of the composition. The associative polyurethanes are triblock copolymers having a polyoxyethylenated chain containing 50 to 1,000 oxyethylene groups.
