PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for managing content data in a portable terminal are provided to increase management performance of content data. CONSTITUTION: A preference managing unit(104) sets up preference about obtained content data. A content managing unit(102) confirms the predetermined preference. The content managing unit classifies pre-stored content data. The content managing unit transmits the pre-stored content data.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for executing handover are provided to enable a mobile node to prepare for handover previously so as to speedily execute handover by enabling the mobile node to predict that the mobile node will move to a new network. A mobile node(1), which moves between heterogeneous networks, comprises a network information confirmation part(15), an interface enable part(16), and a handover execution part(19). The network information confirmation part confirms whether a signal received from a node which connects the mobile node to the first network includes network information which indicates that the mobile node is moving from the first network to the second network. If it is confirmed that the received signal includes such network information, the interface enable part enables an interface which supports the second network. Using the enabled interface, the handover execution part selectively executes handover according to a change of networks.

A method and an apparatus for executing an MIH(Media Independent Handover) are provided to improve a QOS(Quality Of Service) of a network by preventing a delay of an executing speed. A method for executing an MIH includes the steps of: checking a field which indicates the version information of an IP(Internet Protocol)(S100); if a field value which indicates the version information of IP is a value corresponding to an MIH layer, executing a process of the MIH layer, and executing a process of the IP layer(S120); and if the field value which indicates the version information of the IP is not a value corresponding to the MIH layer, executing the process of the IP layer(S130). The field which indicates the version information of the IP is included in a media access control header.

A network device having movement information and a method for exchanging information about movement between network devices are provided to allow recognizing a current situation of a movement information providing apparatus corresponding to movement information that has not been updated for a long time. A movement information providing device detects changed movement information from a radio network(S100). The movement information providing device transmits the changed movement information to a movement information storing device(S110). The movement information storing device updates current movement information by using the received movement information(S120). The movement information storing device checks whether there is movement information that has not been updated for a long time, and if there is movement information that has not been updated for a long time, the movement information storing device requests the latest information from the movement information providing device(S200). The movement information providing device detects requested movement information from the received message and transmits it to the movement information storing device(S210). The movement information storing device updates old current movement information by using the received movement information(S220).

An IP(Internet Protocol) address setup method and a device therefor are provided to previously obtain information on an IP address setup method used in a new network from an IS(Information Server), and to set the obtained information to priority to perform IP address setup, thereby preventing unnecessary delay from occurring. Information on an IP address setup method of a new network after handover is obtained through an IS(S100), and IP address setup is performed by using the IP address setup method while a mobile node accesses the new network(S110). The information on the IP address setup method of the new network includes information indicating that the IP address setup method is IPv6(IP version 6) stateless address configuration which uses IPv6 address automatic setup.

The information on the IP address setup method of the new network includes information indicating that the IP address setup method used in the new network is IPv4(IP version 4) static configuration.

A method and an apparatus for performing handover using subnet information are provided to determine whether to perform handover of an upper layer and a lower layer by directly using subnet information. A sub-net information comparing unit(120) compares sub-net information related to a current connection point and sub-net information related to a new connection point. A layer determining unit(140) determines a layer in which handover will be performed according to whether the sub-net information related to the current connection point and the sub-net information related to the new connection point are identical or not. A message transmission unit(150) transmits a message for performing handover to the determined handover performing layer. A sub-net information receiving unit(110) receives the sub-net information related to the new connection point from an information server.

본 발명에 따라 DHCPv4 환경하에서의 핸드오버 방법, 핸드오버 장치 및 상기핸드오버 방법이 저장된 정보저장매체가 개시된다. 상기 본 발명에 따른 DHCPv4 환경하에서의 핸드오버 방법은, IP 주소 대여를 신속히 승인하여 줄 것을 DHCP 클라이언트로부터 요청받는 단계와, 상기 요청에 응답하여 상기 DHCP 클라이언트로 IP 주소 대여 승인을 전송하는 단계를 포함한다. 이와 같은 본 발명의 구성에 의해 DHCP 환경하에서 IP 주소 할당에 소요되는 시간을 절약할 수 있다.
