Abstract: 본 발명의 세탁기는 풀리에서 발생하는 소음을 저감시키기 위한 개선된 풀리를 포함한다. 풀리의 샤프트 삽입공은 풀리의 회전축에 대해 경사지게 마련되어 샤프트가 샤프트 삽입공에 삽입될 경우 샤프트의 적어도 일부가 샤프트 삽입공에 밀착되게 접합되어 샤프트와 샤프트 삽입공 사이의 공차를 최소화하여 풀리의 회전축과 샤프트의 중심축이 일치되게 할 수 있어 풀리의 회전에 의해 발생하는 소음을 효율적으로 저감시킬 수 있다. 또한 풀리의 스포크가 곡면부를 포함하여 공기와의 마찰을 줄여 공기와의 마찰에 의한 소음을 효과적으로 저감시킬 수 있다.

Abstract: Disclosed is a balancer for a washing machine that has an improved balancing performance. The balancer includes a balancer housing that has an annular channel therein; at least one mass that is arranged to be movable in the channel; at least one groove that is formed by recessing an inner surface of the balancer housing to accommodate the mass; and at least one magnet that is coupled with an outer surface of the balancer housing and restrains the mass accommodated in the groove when a rotation speed of a drum is within a specific rotation speed range.
