The present invention relates to an amalgam electrode, a manufacturing method of the same, and an electrochemical reduction method of carbon dioxide using the same. The amalgam electrode is for reducing carbon dioxide, and contains dental amalgam obtained b mixing mercury and amalgam powder. The dental amalgam contains 35-55 parts by weight of Hg, 14-34 parts by weight of Ag, 7-17 parts by weight of Sn, and 4-24 parts by weight of Cu.

The present invention relates to an electrochemical reduction method for carbon dioxide using a solution containing potassium sulfate. The electrochemical reduction method for carbon dioxide includes a step of supplying a solution containing carbon dioxide and potassium sulfate, a step of supplying a solution containing potassium sulfate, and step of reducing carbon dioxide by applying a current to a cathode and an anode.
