Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for predicting the transport route of a groundwater contaminant source is provided to predict a transport and diffusion process of NAPL(Non Aqueous Phase Liquids) in an area of interest, thereby predicting the transport route of the contaminant source. CONSTITUTION: A computer configures a underground area of interest in which NAPL(Non Aqueous Phase Liquids) are transported. The area of interest is divided into multiple cells by the computer. The computer sets initial conditions about underground water, the NAPL, and a surfactant. The surfactant increases solubility of the NAPL in underground water. The computer calculates the degree of saturation and the speed of the underground water in each cell over time at a predetermined time. The computer calculates the concentration of the NAPL in underground water at each predetermined time.
