Abstract: Disclosed are a system and a method for controlling a robot on which a smart device is mounted. According to the present invention, various operations can be performed in communication with another smart device in a state where a smart device is mounted. The robot control system includes a robot including a first smart device, a main body that has a mount for mounting of the first smart device, a robot driving unit that is mounted on the main body to move the main body, a robot communication unit that communicates with the first smart device, and a robot control unit that is controlled in accordance with a control command from the first smart device; and a second smart device that is connected to the first smart device via a communication application, shares at least one of image information and sound information with the first smart device, and remotely controls the robot by transmitting the control command to the first smart device. The second smart device can smoothly control the robot on which the first smart device is mounted and a plurality of users having the second smart devices can control the robot through simultaneous or individual connection to the robot on which the first smart device is mounted.
