Abstract: A method of detoxifying aromatic pollutants is provided to process the aromatic pollutants of non-degradable rapidly and efficiently and to form a bond residue in which toxicity is decreased to a stable state. A method of detoxifying aromatic pollutants in soil comprises the following steps of: producing intermediate metabolic products having a hydroxyl radical by decomposing aromatic hydrocarbon partly using microorganisms; forming a bond residue by inducing bonding reaction of the intermediate metabolic products and soil organic matters; confirming formation of the bond residue through one or more of aromaticity, spectroscopic analysis, and measuring pH-value; and confirming stability through one or more experiment selected in a pillar-shaped detaching experiment and a toxicity evaluation experiment.
