    Abstract: The present invention relates to a cathode active material comprising silicon nanoparticles and a siloxane layer formed on the surface of the silicon nanoparticles, to a method for manufacturing the same, and a secondary battery using the cathode active material. The cathode active material according to the present invention has the siloxane layer on the surface of the silicon nanoparticles, to prevent the capacity drop of the battery to improve the charge and discharge properties and lifetime properties of the battery, moreover, to have an excellent dispersibility to be uniformly dispersed during manufacturing a cathode to improve the workability.
