Abstract: PURPOSE: A quasicrystal alloy composition is provided which forms quasicrystal single phase under the cooling rate of furnace cooling by superior quasicrystal shape performance and is effectively utilized in a dispersion reinforced composite material or coating material by superior hardness and fracture toughness. CONSTITUTION: The Al-Cu-Fe quasicrystal alloy composition comprising Be is characterized in that the Be is contained in the composition in an amount of 1 to 20 atm.% for the total composition, wherein stabilization temperature zone of (β+liquid phase) passing through during solidification is decreased while temperature section in which quasicrystal phase is produced is increased as Be element is added to the Al-Cu-Fe quasicrystal alloy composition, the quasicrystal phase obtained from the Be element added Al-Cu-Fe alloy structurally has a higher tacticity compared with quasicrystal phase obtained from the Al-Cu-Fe alloy, and a quasicrystal single phase alloy is obtained by heat treatment within a short time of 30 minutes at temperature of 750 deg.C after an ordinary casting method such as die casting method when 1 to 5 atm.% of Be is added to the Al-Cu-Fe quasicrystal alloy composition while a quasicrystal single phase is obtained by uniformly heating the ingot at temperature of 750 deg.C for about 10 minutes in case of an ingot manufactured by an ordinary die casting method when 7 atm.% or more of Be is added to the Al-Cu-Fe quasicrystal alloy composition.
