Abstract: PURPOSE: A frosting sensing device and a method, capable of easily detecting the frosting on a coil, are provided to improve the heating seasonal performance factor of a heat pump by rapidly operating a defrosting cycle. CONSTITUTION: A frosting sensing device comprises a sensor(140), a supporting part(130), a signal transmitting part(190), and a controller(200). The color change of frosted one side of the coil is sensed. The supporting part fixes the sensor on the other side of the coil or the supporting part separated from the coil. The signal transmitting part transfers the electric signal according to the color change detected by the sensor.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A four-way valve is provided to remarkably reduce manufacturing costs by using a block-shaped body and a valve, and to easily maintain and repair the valve. CONSTITUTION: A four-way valve(100) comprises a body(102). The body has a first flow passage and a second flow passage. Abstract: PURPOSE: An outdoor unit is provided to reduce the height of an outdoor coil chamber by installing an outdoor coil and a blower in parallel, and to heat-exchanges the outdoor unit with the outdoor coil using heat generated in a machine room. CONSTITUTION: An outdoor unit comprises a blower, an outdoor coil(110), an upper louver(220), a lower louver(240), and electric motors(230,250). The blower is located in the top of an outdoor coil chamber(130), and discharges air toward top. The outdoor coil is formed in a cup shape, and is installed inside the outdoor coil chamber. The upper louver is located between the blower and the outdoor coil, and is installed on the top surface of the outdoor coil chamber to be opened and closed. The lower louver is installed on the bottom surface of the outdoor coil chamber to be opened and closed. The electric motors drive the upper louver and the lower louver.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A valve block and an air conditioner therewith are provided to improve coil properties by connecting components using the valve block and to improve productivity without a welding work. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner with a valve block comprises a compressor(50), an outdoor unit(65), an indoor unit(70), multiple pipes, opening and closing valves, a cooling expansion valve, a heating expansion valve(75), an oil separator(60), and an accumulator(45).
