Abstract: PURPOSE: An RFID reader, an RFID tag, and a controlling method thereof are provided to activate the RFID tag selectively according to the internal state of the RFID tag. CONSTITUTION: An RFID reader, an RFID tag, and a controlling method thereof comprises a state information generator(126), a receiver(121), and a controller(122). The state information generator produces the status information of the RFID tag. The receiver receives the activation command including the reference conditions information of the RFID tag from the RFID reader. The controller activates the RFID tag based on the status information and reference conditions information. The controller activates the RFID tag, if the status information and reference condition information are matched. A sensor unit(123) which produces sensing data after sensing the neighboring environment parameter of the RFID tag is included.
