Abstract: An MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) scalable moving picture transmission method is provided to encode an MPEG moving picture into a plurality of layers, combine the respective layers, generate a table by using combinations in which degradation degree is low in comparison with a bit rate, and transmit a corresponding layer combination to be adaptive to an available transmission bit rate according to network environment or the request of a user. An MPEG moving picture to be transmitted is encoded into a plurality of layers(601). The encoded respective layers are combined, and a table is generated by using combinations in which degradation degree is low in comparison with a bit rate(602). A corresponding layer combination is transmitted to be adaptive to an available transmission bit rate according to network environment or the request of a user by using the generated table(603).

2. 발명이 해결하려고 하는 기술적 과제
본 발명은, MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) 동영상을 다수의 계층으로 부호화한 후 각 계층들을 조합하여 비트율 대비 열화도가 가장 낮은 조합들로 테이블을 생성한 후 네트워크 환경에 따른 가용 전송비트율 또는 사용자의 요구에 적응적으로 해당 계층 조합을 전송하기 위한, MPEG 계층화 동영상 전송 방법을 제공하는데 그 목적이 있음.
3. 발명의 해결방법의 요지
본 발명은, MPEG 계층화 동영상 전송 방법에 있어서, 전송하고자 하는 MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) 동영상을 다수의 계층으로 부호화하는 단계; 상기 부호화한 각 계층들을 조합하여 비트율 대비 열화도가 가장 낮은 조합들로 테이블을 생성하는 단계; 및 상기 생성한 테이블을 이용하여 네트워크 환경에 따른 가용 전송비트율 또는 사용자의 요구에 적응적으로 해당 계층 조합을 전송하는 단계를 포함함.
