Abstract: PURPOSE: A user interface apparatus for automobile and a driving method for the same using multimodal interface reducing search process are provided to configure menus as a chain shape in a 3D(Three Dimensional) format, thereby overcoming spatial constraints of user experience. CONSTITUTION: An input unit(200) comprises a joystick on a steering wheel, and receives a control command to control a vehicle terminal. A main menu display unit(120) displays main menus on a display unit of the vehicle terminal. A sub menu display unit(140) displays sub menus of the main menu activated by the control command at upper or lower part of the main menus. The main menu display unit displays the main menus in a 3D chain shape rotating for the main menus not to be overlapped.
