    Abstract: PURPOSE: A resource managing method for providing QoS in IP network is provided to guarantee QoS(Quality of Service) satisfying users' demand by providing a protocol that can dynamically control QoS resource to network. CONSTITUTION: A QoS reference model is defined to provide programmable network interface in order to provide QoS satisfying clients' demand. QoS scheduling algorithms of a QoS control master and a QoS control slave are defined according to the reference model(S11). A QoS control protocol is defined so that a resource management algorithm can be implemented in IP network according to a reference model and a resource management model(S12). The QoS control protocol is a control message exchange protocol between the master and the slave to control a core router or an edge router in a domain.
