Abstract: The present invention is directed to golf balls which have a lift to weight ratio greater than 1 to enhance the lofting time of the ball and thereby provide the golfer with a slow swing speed increased distance and improved trajectory. The golf ball has a core and a cover. The cover has dimples on its exterior surface. The golf ball weight ranges from about 1.35 ounces to about 1.62 ounces.

Abstract: The golf ball composition is comprised of a core with a compression of less than about 90 and a cover made from more than about 50 % of a sodium ionomer resin having a low flexural modulus and less than about 50 % of a lithium ionomer resin. Abstract: A golf ball cover composition comprising: a) from about 45 to 55 weight percent of a first high acid ionomer having an acid content of from about 19 weight percent, and b) from 55 to 45 weight percent of a second ionomer selected from the group consisting of: i) a second high acid ionomer having acid groups neutralized with a different metal ion than said first high acid ionomer, and ii) an ionomer containing less than about 16 weight percent acid groups. The ionomer golf ball cover composition is used to make multilayer golf balls, wherein the golf balls optionally comprise a core, a mantle layer, and an inner cover layer. Furthermore, the mantle layer and inner cover layer can be foamed.
