    Abstract: Impact-resistant nylon molding materials contain A: a linear, thermoplastic nylon composed of radicals derived from terephthalic acid and isophthalic acid and alkanediamines of 4 to 10 carbon atoms, and B: from 50 to 60% by weight, based on A, of one or more copolymers of 1. from 50 to 80% by weight of ethylene, from 20 to 50% by weight of a primary or secondary C2-C8-alkyl ester of (meth)acrylic acid, and from 0.5 to 10% by weight of a monomer possessing an acidic functional group or a latent acidic functional group, or 2. from 70 to 98% by weight of a primary or secondary C2-C8-alkyl ester of (meth)acrylic acid, from 1 to 30% by weight of a monomer possessing an acidic functional group or a latent acidic functional group, and from 1 to 5% by weight of a monomer containing 2 or more olefinic double bonds in the molecule, the percentages stated in 1. and 2. summing to 100% in each case, and C: if required, effective amounts of additives.

    Abstract: Non-sticky, highly elastic, multifil polyurethane elastomer thread (I) is produced by the melt-spinning process, using a plasticiser-contg. thermoplastic PU material (II) consisting of (A) 99-50 pts. wt. thermoplastic PU with Shore A hardness 95-80, main melting peak (hard segments) at 210-220 deg.C (by DSC) and MFI 0.1-200 (190 deg.C./212 N) and (B) 1-50 pts. wt. di(methoxyethyl) phthalate, tricresyl phosphate and/or diphenylcresyl phosphate as plasticiser; (A) is obtd. by reaction of (a) organic di-isocyanates with (b) mainly difunctional polyhydroxy cpds. with mol. wt. 500-8000 and (c) chain extenders with mol. wt. 60-400 in the presence of (d) catalysts and (e) opt. auxiliary substances and/or additives. (I) is claimed as such, with elongation at break above 300% (DIN 53815) and strain ratio above 0.85. Pref. Shore A hardness is 60-80; (a) is 4,4'-diphenylmethanedi-isocyanate (MDI) or 1,5-naphthylenedi-isocyanate, (b) are linear polyester-ols obtd. from adipic acid and 2-6C alkanediols, polycaprolactones and/or polytetramethylene-ether glycols and (c) is 1,4-butanediol. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is useful for the prodn. of textile fibres or plane textile structures (claimed). Applications are in the textile industry (outer clothing, corsetry, etc.), bandages, reinforcing fibres for plastics, etc. The process enables the prodn. of highly-elastic multifilament PU thread which is non-sticky.
