Abstract: The invention relates to a solenoid valve (1) with a housing (2) as well as an inlet (3) and an outlet (6), wherein the solenoid valve further comprises a valve element and an orifice (14), wherein the orifice comprises an orifice inlet (15) and an orifice outlet (16). In order to increase the maximum operating pressure differential of the solenoid valve the orifice is provided in a membrane (12) and the orifice has a diffuser characteristic in a direction from the orifice inlet to the orifice outlet.
