Abstract: A line guide 1 comprises a body 3 with a base (5, Fig 3), and a pair of opposing sides 7, 9, a pair of jaws 39,41 which extend below the base 5, the jaws on the opposite sides 7, 9 of the body 3. The jaws 39, 41 have a closed position in which the jaws are configured with a first spacing between, and an open position in which the jaws 39,41 are configured in a second spacing, wider than the first spacing. The guide line also includes a means for indexing the jaws between the open and closed positions, which may be a resilient biasing means such as a compression spring arranged between the jaws to bias the jaws into the open position. Also included is means for adjusting the first spacing, the means preferably comprising a nut 35 on a threaded bolt 33. A channel 19 extends parallel to the sides 7,9 of the body 3 and is arranged to receive a line, and to hold the line above the base 5 of the body 3.
