Abstract: A gas compressor (10) includes a piston assembly (30, 32) that reciprocates in a bore (14) to draw fluid to be compressed into the bore (14) during movement of the piston unit (30, 32) in one direction and to compress the fluid during movement of the piston unit (30, 32) in the other direction. Each piston unit (30, 32) includes an outboard valve assembly (40, 86) and in inboard valve assembly (42, 88) for increasing the fluid pressure in the gas compressor (10).
