Abstract: A composition and method for stabilizing or consolidating low permeability soil, rock, coal, mineral, or other loose aggregates, especially in a subterranean environment. Disclosed is a two-component, acrylate-based injection resin that includes a first component and a second component. The first component comprises an acrylate and an accelerator, and the second component comprises a radical initiator. At the application site, the components are mixed together to form a liquid resin mixture with sufficiently low viscosity, such that the mixture can permeate the low permeability soil. The mixture is injected into the soil in need of stabilization and undergoes polymerization and curing, in turn forming a subterranean geocomposite having high compressive strength.
