QUATERNARY AMMONIUM CHLORIDES OF AMINES HAVING AT LEAST ONE LONG ALIPHATIC CHAIN ARE OBTAINED BY REACTING CONTINOUSLY SAID AMINES WITH METHYL CHLORIDE IN THE PRESENCE OF ALKALI METAL HYDROXIDE AS ACID-BINDING AGENT WHILE MAINTAINING A METHYL CHLORIDE PARTIAL PRESSURE OF ABOUT 3 TO 10 ATMG., USING A REACTION MEDIUM CONSISTING OF FINAL PRODUCT AND A LOWER ALKANOL.
Abstract:
2-PERFLUOROALKYL ETHANOLS ARE OBTAINED BY REACTING 2PERFLUORO-ALKYL ETHYLIODIDES WITH AT LEAST THE TWO-FOLD MOLAR AMOUNT OF NITRIC ACID OF ABOUT 70 TO 98% STRENGTH AND HYDROGENATING THE INTERMEDIATES,WHICH ARE THE NITRATES OF THE DESIRED ETHANOLS. THE PRODUCTS ARE USEFUL AS STARTING MATERIALS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF HYDROPHOBIC AND OLEOPHOBIC TEXTILE FINISHING AGENTS, E.G. THE POLYMER ACRYLATES AND METHACRYLATES OF SAID 2-PERFLUOROALKYL-ETHANOLS.
Abstract:
The present invention provides novel organo-tin compounds of the formula AND THEIR USE AS STABILIZERS FOR HALOGEN CONTAINING POLYMERS. As compared to the known tin stabilizers, the tin compounds of the invention have improved stabilizing properties at identical tin content.
