Abstract:
Recognition and capture of whiteboard markups for a projected image are provided to capture handwriting and free/natural user input obtained by marking a standard non-electronic whiteboard without buying an expensive pen, digitizing tablet, electronic whiteboard, and/or sensor. A storage device is connected to a bus and stores a computer-usable program product. A processor(206) displays a presentation image to the whiteboard as the projected image, discriminates a set of projected markups related to the presentation page, and generates a user input layer by separating and storing the set of the markups as an overlay for the presentation page.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing the start-up time of a system by making it possible to initialize the first region of an installed system memory during the test/initialization time of system firmware, and to start up an operating system (OS) by the system using the first region. SOLUTION: While the system completes the start-up of an OS by using the first region, the second region of the system memory is initialize and tested. After the initialization of the second region has been completed and the OS has started up, an SMI handler is called. The SMI handler simulates the hot add event in a physical memory, and reports this fact to the OS. Thereby, a large number of initialization/test activities of the memory can be carried out in parallel with the initialization/test of the firmware and the start-up process of the OS. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer implemented method, a data processing system and a computer program for performing a plurality of searches. SOLUTION: A request is received to perform the plurality of searches, wherein the request includes text. A search engine preference is retrieved, wherein the search engine preference specifies a plurality of search engines. An Internet browser is opened for each search engine in the plurality of search engines. A search is initiated in each Internet browser using the text. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, method and computer program product for drilling content displayed in a touch screen device.SOLUTION: A method may include detecting a touch gesture by a user on a first portion of content displayed on a touch display. The first portion may include a drillable data element having at least a first dimension, a second dimension and a third dimension. The method may further include detecting information associated with the touch gesture, determining a requested drilling action on the basis at least partly of the detected information, the requested drilling action including at least one of a change of a displayed drill dimension and a change of a displayed drill degree, sending the requested drilling action of the first portion to a report server, and presenting the drilled first portion on the touch display.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, an apparatus, and computer/program/product executed by the computer for capturing markup layers on a whiteboard in relation to a projected image. SOLUTION: A presentation page is displayed on a whiteboard as the projected image. A set of markups on the whiteboard associated with the presentation page is identified. The set of markups on the whiteboard is isolated from the projected image of the presentation page to create a user input layer. The user input layer is saved as an overlay for the presentation page. Abstract:
An approach is provided in which a user selection is received with the selection being a number data elements with each of the selected data elements being displayed in a Web browser software application. A first set of functions to be applied to the selected data elements has been identified by the user and the identified first set of functions is applied to the selected data elements. The result is a set of resulting values which are displayed in a window that appears on the display screen. If the user has selected numeric data then numeric functions are applied to the data, however if the user has selected date-type data then date functions are applied to the data.
Abstract:
A method of testing system memory in a computer using computer instructions stored in the system memory, which includes a cache memory. It is first determined whether the computer supports memory type range registers (MTRRs), 208, which associate memory types (cacheability) with physical address ranges - fixed or variable - of the system memory. The described method is employed for computers which do support MTRRs. Whereas MTRRs are conventionally used statically by BIOS to map the cacheability of physical memory devices, according to the invention they are used dynamically, to temporarily prohibit caching of the memory test area (to allow through testing), while allowing caching of the test program/data/stack (to avoid the delay caused by no caching), once the first megabyte of system memory, which includes the test program instructions, has been tested without caching, 218.
