Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the programming aid which makes it possible to view a computer program in source code format by using a general-purpose document browser. SOLUTION: This programming aid is equipped with a purser 100 which generates a symbol table 120 from an input file 110 containing a program, a means which extracts the position of a control tag from the symbol table 120, and an output file generator which generates an output file that can be viewed through the general-purpose document browser by inserting the control tag into the program according to the extracted position. Then a tool is provided which automatically marks up the program with the control tag, and a user can use a freely an optionally selected document browser as a powerful program browser.
