    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain proper processed results without causing such a failure as the starvation, etc., by performing access to a resource, such as the VRAM (video RAM), etc., from a plurality of processes. SOLUTION: When one of a plurality of processing means requests exclusive access to a certain part of a resource, a lock range processing section 122 permits the exclusive access to the processing means only when no failure occurs in the processing, for example, only when no exclusive access to an overlapping part is permitted to another processing means. In addition, the processing section 122 permits the exclusive access to the certain part by inhibiting the permission to the exclusive access to another part when the number of permitting times of exclusive access to other overlapping parts exceeds a fixed value while the exclusive access to the certain part is not permitted. Thus the processing section 122 prevents the occurrence of starvation by limiting the number of permitting times of exclusive access to other overlapping parts by outrunning the certain part.
