Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately judge which part of contents data are altered since the time of preparing them by providing a means for sampling data for specifying contents and a means for judging the presence/absence of the alteration of the contents data based on this sampling result. SOLUTION: A picture alteration judging device compress-encodes a picture photographed by a digital camera 140 by a JPEG system, e.g. to accept via a camera IF 104. Otherwise, the device accepts compressed picture data recorded in a memory card 142 by the camera 140 through a memory card IF106. At the time of accepting the compressed picture data, an electronic watermark (embedded data) is embedded to the compressed picture data. Then, through the use of using the character of JPEG data obtained by embedding the embedded data, a sampling part judges and displays whether the JPEG data are altered or not and when it is altered, the part decides and displays which part of the picture data are altered.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To reduce the amounts of compressed data indicating an original image by selecting extracting the bell signals of the original image stored at the bell positions of an input image buffer after dividing them into those at every other bell position and the other at the residual bell positions, and preparing compressed data. CONSTITUTION: An input image buffer 24A stores bell signals indicating an original image at bell positions. First compressed data indicating the bell signals stored in every other bell position in the buffer 24A and second compressed data indicating the residual bell signals are generated by a sampling unit 25 and a compressing/extending unit 26, and transmitted through a buffer memory 7 and a transmission line 6 to a buffer memory 3 of a host processor 1, and stored in a data memory 4 under the control of a control unit 5. The compressed data are extracted from the data memory 4, extended through the buffer memories 3 and 7 by the compressing/extending units 26 and the sampling unit 25, and an output image buffer 24B stores the reproduced first bell signals and second bell signals at each bell position.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the recognition rate of the pattern recognizing device which uses the neural network. CONSTITUTION:The section (0,1) of output of the neural network is equally divided into M (M: integer larger than 2) and the number or frequencies of correct answer and wrong answer pattern data included in an (i)th section [(i-1)/M, i/M] are denoted as mu1i and mu0i (where i=1 to M). At this time, when this netowrk grants an output included in the (i)th section for unknown pattern data, the likelihood P1i that this pattern is in this category is stored as an equation P1i=(mu1i+1)/(mu1i+mu01+2) and a likelihood conversion table to be outputted. Then a likelihood converter inputs a value included in the (i)th section [(i-1)/M, i/M] when it is outputted from the neural network and outputs P1i as what is called normalized likelihood.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a method for extracting a tree structure by using the result of the picture analysis of an actual picture, and preparing a general layout model. CONSTITUTION: After a tree structure is automatically extracted based on the picture analysis of a document, a user operates graphical correction so that the tree structure or a layout model can be newly prepared. That is, an image inputted document picture 51 is physically analyzed, a separator which is the most likely to separate the constituting elements of a document is automatically extracted, and a document picture 51 is divided into plural areas 51A-51G according to the information of the separator. Then, this area division is displayed on a display device 13 with the document picture 51, and the user adds necessary correction by an interactive input so that the desired tree structure can be defined. Moreover, a parameter is set to each node 61A-61G of this tree structure so that a general layout model 80 can be completed.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To reduce a storage area and samples required for correction by storing the images of the characters of a document in an image buffer, storing the codes and flags of the characters of high and low recognition in a result buffer and performing the correction by a learning function. CONSTITUTION: A document scanning device 1 scans the document and stores the character images for one page in the image buffer 2. A character segmentation circuit 3 segments all the characters of one row and stores them in the frame of an operation buffer 4. A control circuit 5 operates a logic circuit 10, takes out character recognition trees 6A-6E and all the character codes from a tree memory 6, recognizes the character images and stores a result in an auxiliary buffer. The character code is stored in the result buffer 7 when the accuracy of recognition is higher than a prescribed value and the character code and the flag are stored when it is lower. The image and character code of an erroneously recognized character are stored in a learning buffer 9 and the learning of the character recognition tree, that is the correction, is performed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a red-emitting superlinear phosphor ZnSe:Cu,Al,Co which is suitable for use in a current-sensitive, single-gun color CRT screen. By the addition of a small amount of Co, a red-emitting linear phosphor Zn:Cu,Al is altered to exhibit superlinear characteristics while maintaining its red-emitting spectrum characteristics. The superlinear phosphor may be mixed with a green-emitting sublinear phosphor such as Zn2SiO4:Mn to form a CRT screen. The resultant screen displays a wider color shift from green to red with the increase of beam current density and also minimizes the brightness variation perception due to the change of current density and thus color.
