Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain the conversion of picture elements at a high speed by adding the value -N to the sum total value to count up an address which points the storage position of an output buffer and then adding the value M to the sum total value to count up an address which points the storage position of an input buffer respectively. CONSTITUTION:A means which checks whether the sum total value is negative or not produces a 1st signal showing that the sum total value is not negative and a 2nd signal showing that the sum total value is negative. The picture element data stored in the storage position of an input buffer 2 pointed by an address counter 7 is stored, i.e., moved to the storage position of an output buffer 3 pointed by an address counter 8 in response to the 1st signal. Then the sum total value is updated by adding the value -N to the sum total value. The value M is added to the sum total value in response to the 2nd signal so that the sum total value and then the address of the storage position of the buffer 2 are updated. As a result, the picture elements can be converted at a high speed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To contrive the generation of an ideal rotary image in a short processing time by executing horizontal shear and vertical shear operations combined for generating an address of an output image memory for storing a first pel of a pet line. CONSTITUTION:Under the control of a controller 3, a first pel line containing pels 1, 1, 1,..., 1 of an original image 21 is stored in a 1-line buffer 11. In this state, under the control of the device 3, an address value 5 of an X address register 8 and a Y address register value 2 are supplied to a Bresnham line generation device 10. Subsequently, first pels 1, 1, 1,..., 1 of the original image 21 are fetched form the buffer 11 and brought to scale-down in the X direction by an X scale unit 5, and a scale image of this first pel line is stored in an address of an output memory 2 supplied by the device 10. Next, a parameter Sx = 100 and ¦ Sx x C/a ¦ = 50 are supplied to the device 10. A value ''0'' of a register 17 is also given to the device 10.
