Abstract: An optical transceiver may include pairs of lasers, each laser of a particular pair generating light at the same wavelength and each pair of lasers generating light at different wavelengths. The light from the lasers may be demultiplexed onto a pair of outputs, with each output receiving light from different lasers of each pair of lasers.

Abstract: An optical coupler couples light from waveguides of a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) to output waveguides, for example waveguides of a planar lightwave circuit (PLC). The optical coupler includes optical elements having different optical properties. In some embodiments the optical properties vary to account for waveguide angled facets in the PIC, and in some embodiments the optical properties vary to account for the PIC being mounted at an angle compared to the PLC, or optical coupler.

Abstract: Light from discrete red, blue, and green lasers are combined into a single output using a planar lightwave circuit (PLC). In some embodiments some light from an output of the PLC is reflected back to the lasers, and in some embodiments the reflected light is primarily of one of the red, green, or blue wavelengths. In some embodiments multiple lasers of slightly differing wavelengths are provided as light sources for some or all of the red, blue, and green light.
