    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight, the cost, the complexity and the package space of a check device of a door system of an automobile. SOLUTION: This door check device for an automobile has an array of a needle bearing 1 held in a contact condition by an elastic energy accumulation device 4 on a bearing surface having a groove directed in the longitudinal direction, a columnar cage concentrically adjacent to the bearing surface, and the cage has an array of slots directed in the axial direction to hold the needle bearing 1. This device has a means to transmit the rotational action to the columnar cage, and the means moves the needle bearing 1 with respect to the bearing surface so as to realize the torque reaction according to the displacement of the elastic energy accumulation device 4 when the needle bearing 1 enters/exits a groove, and this device has a means to transmit the transmitted torque into an appropriate structure from the bearing surface.
