Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive distance measuring instrument which can instantaneously change the emissive angle or incident angle of a laser beam with high accuracy. CONSTITUTION: A distance measuring device is provided with a laser beam source 1 which emits a laser beam, deflector 3 which deflects the laser beam toward an object, light receiving element 7 which receives the laser beam reflected by the object, measuring means 8 which measures the time until the laser beam is made incident on the element 7 after the laser beam is emitted from the source 1, and arithmetic means 8 which calculates the distance to the object from the time measured by the means 8. The deflector 3 is composed of a rotating body having a wedge-shaped reflecting surface 9 formed on its peripheral surface so that the angle between the reflecting surface and the axis of rotation of the rotating body can vary depending upon the position on the peripheral surface of the rotating body.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To suppress background light, which is cast together with light to be received, efficiently at a low cost by providing a lens, which condenses the light emitted from a target and forms the image surface for the target, and a light receiving means, which receives the light, whose quantity is suppressed with an aperture stop and performs photoelectric conversion. CONSTITUTION: An aperture stop 40 is arranged in the space formed between a lens 61R and a photodetector 65. An opening part 41 of the aperture 40 is formed at the position of the image surface of a target 42 formed with the lens 61R and has the shape equal to the locus of the image surface for all relative positions with the lens 61R, which can be set by the target 42. The image surface is located at a point on an optical axis, where the target 42 is separated from the main point of the lens 61R by a distance L. When the focal length of the lens 61R is given, the image surface is formed at a point, which is separated by a distance (d) where the specified expression holds true along the optical axis from the main point. The dimension of the opening part 41 becomes the value, which is obtained by multiplying the dimension of the cross section of the space in the direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the lens 61R by the lateral magnification imparted by the specified expression for the distances L and (d).

Abstract: PURPOSE:(J) To make a tester concentrate only on the measurement to improve the electricity saving efficiency by setting up infrared detector elements to detect the infrared radiation from a face part in right and left sides of an optical measuring system, detecting the temperature difference between infrared detecting elements generated by the difference of pyroelectricity effect and discriminating whether the eye to be tested is right or left. CONSTITUTION:When a test light source beam 1 is inputted to an eye to be tested 2 and a test light receiving element 3 detects reflected light by the eyeground, infrared radiation is discharged from a testee's face 5 by aligning with an observatory optical system 4 and infrared radiation is inputted to an infrared detecting element 6. That is to compare the temperature difference by inputted infrared quantity difference to two detecting elements 6a and 6b. Detecting signals from detecting elements 6a and 6b are amplified by amplifiers 10a and 10b before discrimination at threshold value discrimination circuits 11a and 11b. If they are within a standard, they are discriminated by an XOR circuit 13 only when the signal is from one side of a and b and transmitted to a right/left discrimination circuit 16, then right/left discrimination can be automatically done.
