Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupler having both accurate aligning and easy molding. SOLUTION: The coupler is disclosed which has a convergent wall corner section. The convergence provides a draft that is needed for removing the coupler from the conventional plastic mold.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved, reversibly terminable fiber stub connector assembly that can be readily and positively terminated in the field using simple termination tools. SOLUTION: This allows repositioning or replacement of fiber optic cable field fibers if termination is not acceptable in performance. The tool may be a hand-held tool, or used in conjunction with a connector support structure to provide simplified and expeditious field termination of fiber optic cables. The cam tool can include a through hole that enables connection of a patchcord to the stub fiber of the connector during or shortly after termination without removal of the termination tool. Accordingly, field testing of the connection can be made at the site of termination. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturable and inexpensive sleeve that facilitates mutual connection in matching and that enables mutual connection in reversion, so as to make the errors in mutual connection reparable, in an easy and prompt manner. SOLUTION: A coupler is disclosed for selectively connecting a pair of optical fiber, capable of dual communication method either in a matched state or in a reversed state. The coupler is equipped with a housing, that accepts and engages with these cables and a removable wall structure that extends from the housing. The wall structure facilitates the insertion of a second cable in the matching. In a state with the wall structure removed, the second cable becomes insertable into the housing in the reversed state.
Abstract:
A coupler on duplex connector sleeve (10) for selectively coupling a pair of duplex fiber optic cables in either a matched or reversed configuration is disclosed. The coupler includes a housing (36), adapted to receive and interlock with the cables (12,14), and a detachable wall structure (54), extending from the housing. The wall structure facilitates insertion of the second cable in the matched configuration. With the wall structure removed, the second cable is insertable into the housing in the reversed configuration.

Abstract:
