Abstract:
Speech analysis system with a system for undisturbed speech generation of a person and to a method for analysing a speech generation of a person. The speech analysis system allows for an undisturbed speech generation by the person. The system first writes out the test sentence, clears it and shows afterwards a sequence of visual clues to the person in order to remind him of the correct wording. The person is reminded of the sentence and repeats it exactly but without any influence through letters. The method provides visual clues that remind the person of the exact sentence, without influencing his pronunciation.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a user interface system for a personal healthcare environment. Furthermore the invention relates to a method of operating such a user interface system. In order to provide a user interface system which can easily be used by disabled users, a user interface system (1) is suggested, comprising a number of user interface components (2, 3, 4), and further comprising an adaptation module (5), said adaptation module (5) being adapted to carry out an automatic adaptation of at least one of the components (2, 3, 4) based on the disabilities of an individual user.
Abstract:
An assistance system for visually handicapped persons with visual impair in a part of their visual field aims at providing a technical solution for these persons, informing them actively about objects or movements in the visually impaired side, by way of body-worn sensors.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a health management system comprising a body or limb movement detecting means for detecting the movements and position of a users body or limb (s) in 3D space, a movement analyzing means for analyzing the data of the measurement carried out by the body or limb movement detecting means, wherein the body or limb movement detecting means comprises at least three sensors or markers for tracking a user's body or limb movement in 3D space by measuring an angle embedded by two body parts of the user which are connected to each other by a joint being the apex of the angle to be measured, at which one of the sensors or markers is provided. To detect the offset a change in distance between two neighboring sensors or markers indicates an offset of the sensor at the joint spaced apart from the apex.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the area of rehabilitation for patients with motor disabilities, especially for hemiplegic patients. With the present invention a long term, e.g. day and night, patient activity monitoring can be established in a home environment. A core idea of the invention is to evaluate the functional use of a limb by determining the synchronicity of the patient's movements depending on the movement's cyclicity. With this approach a reliable assessment of limb usage can be made based on the daily living activities of the patient. With the present invention the progress of rehabilitation can be monitored and guidance can be provided to therapists and patients about the state of the rehabilitation process. It further makes them aware of a lack of limb usage.
