Abstract: A light-emitting unit (1) comprising: a package (4), coupled to a PCB (2), and including a base substrate (4a) and a silicone dome (4b) which completely surrounds a LED (18), a gas sensor (20) to sense volatile compounds (VOCs) permeating the dome, and a light sensor (22) to sense a light intensity value of a light flux emitted by the LED. The PCB integrates a pump (8) to generate a local depression within the silicone dome, and a processor (30), coupled to the gas sensor (20), the light sensor (22), and the pump (8), and configured to acquire, from the gas sensor (20), a first signal indicative of a quantity of the VOCs permeating the silicone dome; acquire, from the light sensor (22), a second signal correlated to said light intensity value; and activate the pump (8) when the VOCs are above a threshold and the light-flux intensity below a respective threshold.
