    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a pressurization-type reference electrode with low manufacturing cost, excellent productivity, and high performance which can be used singly or so as to be built in a combined electrode by a method wherein the inside pressure of the reference electrode can be adjusted arbitrarily as desired and, even when a pressure is decreased while the reference electrode is used for a measurement, the reference electrode can be pressurized repeatedly. CONSTITUTION: A pressurization-type reference electrode 20 comprises a side-face packing 40 installed in such a way that it is situated on the side face of an outer tube 22 and in an upper-part air chamber 34 at an inside liquid 28 housed in the outer tube. A needle-shaped pipe 56 is pierced through the side-face packing 40 so as to be freely pierced and pulled out, and compressed air is injected into the upper-part air chamber 34 in the outer tube so as to be capable of being pressurized.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To purge dissolved oxygen effectively by providing an inert gas introduction port for purging the gas and filling the introduction port with a porous member thereby feeding an inert gas, in the form of fine bubbles, into a sample solution. CONSTITUTION: An inert gas introduction port 30 is filled with a porous member 32. The porous member 32 is composed of an arbitrary porous material having pore diameter of 10-100μm and porosity of 30-60%. The member 32 tilting the introduction port 30 relaxes the pressure of nitrogen gas stagnating between a nitrogen gas cylinder 16 and a solenoid valve V, when it is introduced through the introduction port 30 into a measuring cell 8. Consequently, a part of sample solution in the cell 8 is prevented from being scattered through a sample injection port 6. Furthermore, nitrogen gas is injected into the sample solution in the form of fine bubbles thus purging the dissolved oxygen effectively.

CONSTITUTION:The apparatus for measuring the concentration of diacetyl is provided with a reaction container 19 having a sample injection port 11, a buffer solution supply source connected to a liquid supply port 21 of the reaction container 10 throufh a pump 22 for supplying liquid. a solenoid valve 32 for adjusting the surface of liquid connected to an overflow port 31 of the reaction container 10, an inert gas supply source connected to an air supply port 41 of the reaction container 10 through a solenoid valve 43 for supplying air and a pump 53 for draining liquid connected to a drain port 51 of the reaction container 10 through a solenoid valve 52 for draining liquid. It is also provided with electrodes 64, 65 and 66 inserted into the reaction container 10, a body 71 of the measuring apparatus and an arithmetic device 81 to control the operations of the pump for supplying liquid, the solenoid valve for adjusting the surface of liquid, the solenoid valve for supplying air, the solenoid valve for draining liquid, the pump for draining liquid and the body of the measuring apparatus according to a program preset.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to build an internal liquid tank in a composite electrode, so that the total structure of said composite electrode is made compact and easy to handle with, by fixing a water absorbing core material to an upper end of a communicating pipe section to extend through said communicating pipe section, a projecting pipe section and an electrode tube approximately to a connecting section of liquid. CONSTITUTION:An internal liquid in an internal liquid tank 3 is taken into a communicating pipe section 19 through either one of communicating holes 6, 7. The internal liquid is then guided along a water absorbing core material 20 into an internal liquid container 12 within an electrode tube 1. On the other hand, the air in the container 12 flows upward from a vent hole 18 of a projecting pipe section 17 in the communicating pipe section 19 to be discharged out of either one of the communicating holes 6, 7 to the tank 3. Two or more vent holes 18 are formed, so that the internal liquid, even if it remains by the surface tension between the core material 20 and the projecting pipe section 17, can escape from one of the vent holes. As a result, even when the communicating holes 6, 7 are formed adjacent to each other, the core material 20 becomes easy and ready to absorb the internal liquid. Further, the internal liquid in the container 12 is easily guided to a connection section 8 along the core material 20. Therefore, the distance between the communicating holes 6, 7 can be made short, and the length of the connecting section 8 can be shortened by the core material 20.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable accurate measurement of the degree of dirt of an insulator simply by washing and measuring a part of the surface of the insulator with a small size apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A rotation support device 2 is provided to make a dirt evenly adhering to the surface of an insulator 1 with the rotation of a pilot insulator 1, a washing device 3 to wash away the dirt from a part of the surface in the pilot insulator 1 by washing water and a concentration measuring device to measure the concentration of the dirt washed away by the washing water. The pilot insulator 1 is turned through the rotation support device 2 except for the period of washing with the washing device 3 and measuring the concentration with the concentration measuring device.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the diffusion of a comparison liquid into water to be tested and to achieve the simplification of maintenance and control and the stabilization of measurement by providing a reverse osmosis membrane so as to demarcate the comparison liquid in a comparison liquid storage part and the water to be tested flowing through a water flow path part. CONSTITUTION:Between the water flow path part 2 and comparison liquid storage part 3 in a measuring cell 1, the communication hole 9 allowing both parts to communicate each other is formed on the downstream side of the flow of water 11 to be tested from the responsive part of a glass electrode 6 and the water 11 to be tested in the water flow path part 2 and the comparison liquid 7 in the comparison liquid storage part 3 are demarcated by the reverse osmosis membrane 10 provided so as to close the communication hole 9. By allowing the comparison liquid 7 and the water 11 to be tested to communicate with each other through the reverse osmosis membrane 10 as mentioned above, the diffusion of the comparison liquid into the water 11 to be tested is reduced and the contamination of the responsive part of an acting electrode with the diffused comparison liquid is reduced and, therefore, maintenance and control become simple and the reverse osmosis membrane 10 is allowed to approach the responsive part of the acting electrode to suppress the variation of drift potential to make it possible to perform stable measurement.

CONSTITUTION:The highly water absorptive resin which does not affect the compsn. of the internal liquid of a glass electrode, ion selective electrode, reference electrode, etc. to be used for measuring pH and ion activity of various solns. is injected in an extremely small amt. into the internal liquid at the ordinary temp., by which the solidification of the internal liquid is executed. The generation of the foam by the handling or transportation after the completion of the electrode is obviated by an non-fluidization of the internal liquid; therefore, the generation of a defective connection and fault in the wetting part and liquid junction part of the internal electrode is prevented.
