    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a method and device for restoring a changed electrode potential of a pH measuring electrode using metal oxide or metal for sensitive film to an original potential condition in a short time. CONSTITUTION:Electrode potential-changed pH measuring electrodes 1-4 using iridium oxide for pH-sensitive film are electrically shortcircuitted by electrically connecting their leads 1a-4a to each other, and they are immersed in neutral phosphate solution 5 of pH 6.86 for about an hour. The pH-measuring electrodes of which electrode potential is changed can be restored almost to an original potential condition in a short time to be stabilized, so a very good efficiency is achieved, and because they can be restored to the potential condition where calibration can be performed sufficiently to be stabilized, thereby they can be reused without being wasted and disposed as defectives.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a comparison electrode system in which a sample solution sucked through a suction nozzle is mixed uniformly with a comparison inner or outer liquid while preventing contamination due to dripping of the comparison inner or outer liquid through the nozzle into the sample solution. CONSTITUTION:A level difference part is provided in the way of a channel 10 of sucked sample solution including a suction nozzle 8 in order to partition the vertically extending part immediately below a confluence 11 within a cell 14. The extending part is formed at a mixing part 17 of the sample solution and a comparison outer liquid 6 and the level difference part itself serves as a part 18 for blocking migration of the comparison outer liquid 6 in the forward end direction of the nozzle 8. Consequently, the comparison outer liquid 6 does not migrate in the forward end direction of the nozzle 8 but flows, as a turbulence, back to the mixing part 17 and mixed uniformly with the solution.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure ion activity on the surface of an object to be measured and the inside thereof by means of one composite electrode for measuring ion active amount. CONSTITUTION:A needle-like ion activity sensing electrode 1 that is provided with an ion active sensing membrane on its tip surface is fixed on a metallic tubular body 5 with an insulation tubular body 4 interposed. The body 5 is arranged inside an inner tubular body 11 of an insulation cover 10 with double- ply construction where the inner tubular body 11 and outer tubular body 12 are provided and a groove 14 is formed in an axial direction as to penetrate the side face, in such a way that the body 5 will be able to slide in an axial direction, being closely contact with the inner surface of the body 11. On the other hand, a liquid junction pad 16 of comparing electrode is fitted in a doughnut-like front end opening between the body 11 of the cover 10 and the body 12, and an inner electrolyte 17 and an inner electrode 18 of the comparing electrode are arranged in an inner space. Further, the sliding position is set in such a way that the surface of the junction 16 will be on the same plane of the surface of the electrode 1 when the electrode is drawn back to the utmost.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To stabilize an electrode potential of a pH electrode using metal or metal oxide for pH-sensitive film easily in a short time, and facilitate calibra tion operation. CONSTITUTION:After completion of measurement, pH electrode 30 and a comparison electrode 10 are contained in an adaptor 1 attached to a device main body, and electrodes 30, 10 are immersed in solution 15 of pH6.86, which is similar to that of inner liquid 13 of the comparison electrode 10, injected inside it. Electrode plugs of the electrodes 30, 10 are connected to a pH terminal 2 and a comparison terminal 3, and a switch 4 is put on, so the pH electrode 30 and the comparison electrode 10 are shortcircuitted. An electrode potential of the pH electrode 30 is thus returned to its original condition soon to be stabilized. In the meanwhile, the pH terminal of the device main body is shortcircuitted with the comparison terminal, and a gauge pointing value is set at pH6.86. Calibration for one point can thus be performed electrically, thereby need of complicated calibration operation can be eliminated.
