    Abstract: Systems and methods of wheelchair systems having a companion control mode are disclosed. The wheelchair system includes a companion and a wheelchair. The wheelchair includes one or more wheels, at least one actuator coupled to the one or more wheels, a processing device, and a non-transitory, processor-readable storage medium in communication with the processing device. The non-transitory, processor-readable storage medium includes one or more programming instructions that, when executed, cause the processing device to determine the companion, generate a companion profile based on the determined companion, determine a movement of the companion, and actuate the at least one actuator to drive the one or more wheels to follow the movement of the companion. The actuation of the at least one actuator to drive the one or more wheels to follow the movement of the companion is an autonomous control.

    Abstract: An autonomously moveable storage unit includes one or more processors, a storage container configured to contain a stored item, a moveable base coupled to the storage container and communicatively coupled to the one or more processors, and one or more memory modules communicatively coupled to the one or more processors. The one or more memory modules store logic that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the autonomously moveable storage unit to actuate the moveable base to automatically move the autonomously moveable storage unit from a docked position coupled to the wheelchair to an undocked position uncoupled from the wheelchair, and actuate the moveable base to automatically move the autonomously moveable storage unit from the undocked position to the docked position.

    Abstract: A modular power base for a wheelchair, the modular power base includes a leg module. The leg module includes an upper leg portion comprising a distal end and a proximal end. The proximal end is configured to be detachably and rotatably coupled to a seat portion of the wheelchair. The leg module also includes a lower leg portion having a first end and a second end, the first end of the lower leg portion being rotatably coupled to the distal end of the upper leg portion. The leg module also includes a first wheel rotatably coupled to the distal end of the upper leg portion and to the first end of the lower leg portion and a second wheel rotatably coupled to the second end of the lower leg portion.

    Abstract: A wheelchair assembly including a control device, a power base, and a plurality of leg modules coupled to the power base is disclosed. Each of a first, a second, and a third leg module may include an upper leg assembly and a lower leg assembly. Each lower leg assembly may include a knee joint and a foot joint and each lower leg assembly may rotatably couple to each upper leg assembly at the knee joint. A knee wheel located at the knee joint of each lower leg assembly, may include an omni-directional wheel, and may be selectively drivable. A foot wheel located at the foot joint of each lower leg assembly may be selectively drivable. The control device, based on a selectable mode of operation, may selectively position at least one of the knee wheel or the foot wheel associated with each respective leg module relative to a surface.
