Abstract:
A temperature-controlled parabolic reflector, for reflecting an essentially parallel light beam, is employed to direct light from a light source to an image master spaced a predetermined distance from a printed circuit board to expose certain portions of a photoresist to define a circuit pattern. Electrical circuits are subsequently formed by electroless copper plating to the areas exposed by the pattern.

24. METHOD FOR DISTRIBUTING LIQUID OVER A SURFACE Abs tract A surface of a substrate (11) (FIG. 2) is uniformly coated with a liquid (L) by wetting the surface with the liquid and compressibly contacting the wetted surface with an applicator member (10) having an outer layer (14) of a compressible liquid absorbing material with inverse sponge characteristics and an inner layer (13) of compliant material. Preferably, the member (10) is a roller having a silicone rubber or polyurethane inner layer and a chamois outer layer. The substrate is thus coated with a layer having an unusually uniform thickness, including a uniformly thick layer through openings through the substrate. Also, buildup of ridges of the coating caused by dripping is avoided.
