Abstract:
A method, system, and apparatus for the shifting of a scanning device's focal point is described herein. The method, system, and apparatus comprise a focal point shifter interposed between a scanner surface and a target surface of a medium.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus that reads a first image and a second image which were photographed on a microfilm side by side in the width direction of the microfilm. The image reading apparatus has a reading device which reads the images on the microfilm, a parameter setting device which sets separately a first image processing parameter for the first image and a second image processing parameter for the second image, and a control device which controls the reading device to read the first image in accordance with the first image processing parameter and to read the second image in accordance with the second image processing parameter.
Abstract:
An image display apparatus has an optical system including a movable mirror for projecting the image of an image bearing member, a screen for displaying the image projected by the optical system, an image sensor fixed in the vicinity of the screen but outside the image projecting optical path toward the screen, and a moving mechanism for moving the mirror between a display position for projecting the image onto the screen and a reading position for projecting the image onto the image sensor.
Abstract:
A system and a method for the conversion of archived documents to a digital format (102) and storage of the data extracted in repositories which may be easily extracted and searched by a user over a network such as the Internet (116).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for automatically inserting documents for displaying on a display device and/or for copying in a digitisation device, such as microfiches, microfilm jackets or similar, which are conveyed one at a time from a holding magazine for a stack of documents to be processed to a document support and from there, to a deposit magazine for the processed documents. According to said method, the top document of a stack of documents in the holding magazine is drawn upwards by suction, approximately to the level of the document support, the remaining stack then being retained in the magazine by suction in the opposite direction. The document that is drawn up by suction is transported to the document support sideways and deposited on said document support by terminating the suction effect. After processing, the document is once again drawn by suction and transported to the deposit magazine.
Abstract:
Abstract:
@ A microform reader for reading microfilm filmed at a reduction of about 200 times forms an image of a selected page on the microform on a linear solid state sensor which scans down the image of the page to produce a line-by-line or video-type representation of the page for transmission to a remote location. Selected lines of the sensor output are analysed to provide a determination of image parameters and enable the image-forming system to be adjusted to improve the transmitted image quality. Thus each filmed page carries at its head a registration target of well defined shape such that a selected scanned line yields precise information as to the X-Y location of the page. Also selected pages include a focussing target including a pattern carrying a black/white discontinuities. Analysis of the scanned line representing the discontinuities gives a measure of the accuracy of focus enabling appropriate adjustment to be made automatically.
