PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium for preventing an airtight region between two optical recording media from becoming negative pressure and preventing transfer errors. SOLUTION: In the optical recording medium including at least a cover layer and a print layer on a side opposite to the cover layer on the nearly disk-like substrate having a center hole, a projecting inner-periphery rim section and a projecting outer-periphery rim section are provided at the inner-periphery and outer-periphery sides of the print layer, respectively on the substrate, and an irregular structure is provided on nearly the whole surface of the inner-periphery rim section and/or the outer-periphery rim section. In a rewritable compact disc having a wobble groove on a substrate and phase-change recording layer comprising one selected from the compositions represented by MzGey(SbxTel-x)l-y-z (where 0 aA bGec(SbdTel-d)l-a-b-c (where 0 is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Zn, Pd, Pt, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Co, Si, Sn, Pb, Bi, O, N, S and rare earth metal elements, and A is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ga and In). Recording at 8-times or higher velocities is realized by a divided pulse method without any risk of impairing the read-compatibility with the conventional CD-RW specifications at least at 4-times velocity.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device to manufacture an optical recording medium which has uniform recording and reproducing characteristics over its inner and outer circumferences and less warping. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of an optical recording medium having at least a base plate with a guide groove and a pigment recording layer is provided. The manufacturing method includes steps of: coating pigments to form the pigment recording layer on the base plate by applying a solution containing organic pigments; and infrared processing by radiating an infrared ray to the optical recording medium by using an infrared lamp emitting an infrared ray after the step of coating pigments. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recording a rewritable compact disc by a CAV mode enabling recording at 10-times velocity or higher, while maintaining compatibility with CD-RW specifications, which is a conventional CLV mode. SOLUTION: The CAV recording method used for a rewritable compact disc is provided. The disc has a substrate on which wobble grooves are formed and a phase-change recording layer. A crystal state part of the disc is an unrecorded state or an erased state, and an amorphous state part is a recorded state. EFM-modulated information is recorded by radiating recording light to form an amorphous mark in the groove. When a linear speed of 1.2-1.4 m/s is a reference speed (1-times velocity), the disc is rotated such that the linear speed at an outermost periphery of a recording region reaches at least 10-times velocity. SOLUTION: In the information recording medium I having a substrate 10, and at least an optical information recording layer 11, a base layer 14 and the print receiving layer 15 formed on the substrate 10, the base layer 14 contains not more than 2.6% by mass of an antifoaming agent or a leveling agent, and the print receiving layer 15 is composed of a porous layer mainly containing inorganic fine particles having an average secondary particle diameter of ≤500 nm and a polyvinyl alcohol. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for identifying customers on a car without cards and supporting attendants providing services suited to the customers. SOLUTION: Customer information including a customer visit history is stored in advance in association with license plate information for customers' cars. A license plate on the customer's car entering a store is imaged by a camera and the license number is analyzed. The customer history information is searched based on the analyzed license number to determine substandard items.
