    Abstract: A device for continuous casting of metal, comprising an electromagnetic brake that includes at least one downwardly open mould comprising cooled copper plates (1a, 1b) that form a chilled casting mould with a rectangular cross section, wherein said mould is adapted to be supplied with an incoming primary flow of melt.
